Home Made Whole Wheat Pizza (No Oven Needed)


The Ingredients:
  1. Whole wheat flour(of course..... Duh :D) - (about 150 g)
  2. active dried yeast
  3. Vegetables for topping(3 to 4 of your choice)
  4.  Mozzarella cheese
  5. Tomato ketchup
  6.  Garlic cloves - (4-5 nos)
  7.  Oregano and chili flakes
  8. Salt and water 

Step 1: The Base

Take 1 cup lukewarm water and add the active dried yeast, mix gently and keep aside for 5 -10 mins.
In a mixing bowl add the wheat flour,some oregano and chilli flakes(yes these 2 will give the dough a unique taste) so just do it and add some salt too.


Now add the yeast mix to the bowl and mix well. knead the dough for 3-4 minutes while adding more water if need be. The dough must be very soft. now leave it for an hour or hour and a half to rest by covering it with a damp cloth.



Step 2: The simple Pizza sauce

While the dough is resting take 3-4 table spoon of tomato kethcup in a small bowl and add some chilli flakes and oregano(optional). Crush the garlic cloves and add them to the bowl,add some salt to taste and mix well. Wallah the pizza sauce is ready.



Step 3: Getting the base ready

Take the proven dough in medium size portion on a flat plate and start pressing it with your fingers while rotating the dough in a circular manner to form a roti like structure. now to have some fun take a fork and start poking the base all over(to avoid puffing actually :D). For baking you will need 2 tawas(or a tawa and a pan) and some salt(1 kg or so - u can reuse it). Put the tawa on the stove and pour the salt over it and spread evenly. Place the pizza base in the second tawa or pan and place it on the salt and bake for  2-3 mins on low flame. Take out after this pre-baking and spread the sauce u made evenly on the base.



Step 4 : Topping the pizza and baking the cheesy goodness

On the sauced base grate some fresh mozzarella cheese and add your favorite toppings and grate some more fresh mozzarella ( add as mush as you like- its pretty important you know :P). brush the edge of the base with some melted butter or oil of your choice. Keep the first tawa preheated and now place the second tawa on the salt base and bake for 20-25 mins on low-medium flame with a closed lid.


After 20 -25 mins you'll have your beautiful homemade pizza. Treat yourself guilt free. cheers.
